Klaviyo is seeking a Director, Sr. Leadership & Talent Management, to join our KPeople Organization (KPPL).  Our mission is to be the best place for ambitious people to learn and grow.  We think of ourselves as a product organization that strives to build talent programs and solutions that are scalable, simple and efficient.  

In this critical role, reporting to the VP, Culture you will help shape Klaviyo’s talent management ecosystem, integrating advanced AI driven strategies to enhance employee experience, design impactful talent management processes and cultivate leaders throughout the company.

How you’ll make an impact: 

As the Director, Talent Management & Sr. Leadership Development, you’ll develop Klaviyo’s philosophy and strategy on Talent Management & Sr. Leadership Development and partner with the Performance Team to ensure our Talent & Performance philosophy is aligned.

Talent Evaluation & Leadership Development

    • Talent Reviews: Design and lead the annual talent review process to identify key talent, assess potential, and align development plans with Klaviyo’s strategic goals. Establish ongoing talent calibration with a focus on high-potential talent (including programming) and addressing growth areas or gaps.
    • Director+ Development: Develop and execute leadership development programs for Directors and above to build strategic capabilities and readiness for future leadership roles. Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify and cultivate key leadership skills.
    • Succession Management: Lead semi-annual succession planning for critical roles and talent across the organization, ensuring a clear leadership pipeline for current and future needs. Partner with executives to develop and mentor high-potential leaders, ensuring continuity in key positions.

Capability and Skills Development

    • Capability Framework: In collaboration with our Director of Culture & Learning, design and implement a capability framework. Ensure Director+ employees have access to tools, resources, and guidance to enhance their skills and career growth.
    • Skills Strategy: Develop and implement a company-wide skills strategy that aligns with Klaviyo’s evolving business needs. Use AI and technology to identify skill gaps, predict future talent requirements, and establish scalable development plans that build both core and emerging capabilities throughout the organization.
    • Internal Mobility Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of a strategy for internal mobility, ensuring employees have opportunities to grow their careers within Klaviyo. 

Organizational Strategy & Talent Data:

    • Strategic Planning: Participate in Klaviyo’s organizational strategic planning to align talent management initiatives with broader business goals. 
    • Data-Driven Insights: Collaborate with the HRBPs, People Tech, People Operations, and People Analytics to collect and analyze talent data, turning insights into actionable plans to support talent pool growth and leadership decisions.
    • Workforce Retention & Succession Planning: Develop and maintain effective programs focused on workforce retention, promotion, and succession planning. Ensure these initiatives are aligned with Klaviyo’s diversity, inclusion, and talent growth strategies.

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Talent Management & Leadership Development in Human Resources, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with team members across people organization to align talent strategies with broader business outcomes  Experience designing and executing  AI-powered talent processes, including talent review, succession management, and sr. leadership development in a scaling organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing skills strategies that align with business needs and drive organizational success.
  • Exceptional skill in building strong partnerships with senior leadership,influencing through data insights to drive strategic talent decisions.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate talent analytics into actionable insights and strategies
  • Willingness and ability to roll up your sleeves and do the hands-on work required to drive projects to completion, while maintaining a keen attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with a focus on collaboration and partnership across the organization.

The pay range for this role is listed below. Sales roles are also eligible for variable compensation and hourly non-exempt roles are eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law. This role is eligible for benefits, including: medical, dental and vision coverage, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k), flexible paid time off and company-paid holidays and a culture of learning that includes a learning allowance and access to a professional coaching service for all employees.

Base Pay Range For US Locations:
$184,000$276,000 USD
